LJS & Associates Consulting Inc. is hosting a dynamic focus group discussion for managers, HR workers, and employers from non-profit organizations on work readiness, what it means, how to improve incoming skill sets in the workplace, and how to create a more efficient hiring process.

On July 1, 2010 the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) will replace the current tax systems of PST and GST in the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia. HST is more than GST at 13%; it will require organizations to reevaluate current programs and budgets and make changes to accounting systems in time for May 1, 2010 when transitional rules will start to apply.
What you will learn:
- Overview of how the taxes currently work
- Help you understand the similarities and differences between PST and GST/HST
- Identify key dates and general transitional rules
- Explain the transitional process and wind-up of PST
- Review of taxable, zero-rated and exempt supplies
- Discuss tax credits and overpayments
- Answer your questions
Operating a business can take a lot of time and paperwork. Learn how the PST and GST work, and how will the HST affect your business.
